My very first portable: The
LogoS.png

Featuring a 5" screen from Dalian Good Display, the infamous ZN-45 casing from Polycase, a cheap 8 dollar GameCube Battery, the WiiKey -> GameCube mod (Credit to Zenl0c), a integrated Speedlink Classic GameCube controller, 4 external controller ports, Speakers and headphone jack and the other basic stuff.

I also got some WorkBlog videos on YouTube, check out one of my channels here.

Like I said before, it's my first portable, so it's not going to look like a Zenl0c or Ashen.
I'm also just 14, so keep that in mind too. ;)

I hope you're going to enjoy the WorkBlog here and the final product.
It will be sold after a couple of months I have it.

Check out the title for the latest update information.

So yeah, hope you guys are going to like this one! :D

Re: The GameCube LITE

I love you. So how exactly does the SD card read the games? Is there a limit to card size? And does it perform well? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just excited

Re: The GameCube LITE

Haha nice videos, and you're off to a great start. A lil tip? That battery is horrible. I would recommend getting something from Batteryspace.com.

Haha, I love questions!

1. Q: "So how exactly does the SD card read the games?"
A: I'll get a SD Memory Card adapter for Wii / GC from DealExtreme.
I'll also order some SD Card Slots from eBay, and then I connected the SD Card slot via wires to the Adapter,
And I'll also connect the Adapter to the GC Mobo via wires.
Then you'll have this program called SD Boot that can boot games directly from that SD card.
The program will be stored on the flash memory of the Qoob Pro Modchip.

2. Q: "Is there a limit to card size?"
I don't know...
But I think 8GB SD cards will do fine.

3. Q: "And does it perform well?"
A: What I saw from YouTube videos is yes.
There are a few bugs here and there, but nothing big.
Some games need to be patched first (like LoZ Collectors Edition).

I know!
10 - 12 hours of recommend charging... :cry4:
And only 2 hours of playing...
Well, I have no Disc Drive in it, remember?
That saves a lot of energy.
I will also try to run the GameCube from 5V.

And I got this battery for like 9 dollars!
So I think that's a pretty awesome deal!

SDload was flux last time I used it.

I will not use SDload but SDBoot.

Re: The GameCube LITE

Won't the DD still be required to boot the games? As in to load them up? I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you always get an error without the DD.

Re: The GameCube LITE

Yeah, booting a GC normally IIRC causes an error, and most modchips will stop and give an error message when it's booted without one too.(Don't remember what my Qoob pro did) Even then, if you managed to boot a game, the game itself might get picky and cause a disc read error...dunno lol.

The DD board will be on the portable, but not the laser, motor and stuff. ;)
I tested the GC without the board, it starts, menu comes, it's good for 5 seconds, error appear.

I'm 99% sure it won't run without the laser.
Besides, lasers make everything better!!!
If the idea without DD is not going to work, I just make an small version of the DD.

UPDATE

So, I got my Thrustmaster screen, and it's CRAP!
Jesus it's just CRAP!
I'm going to return it and save money for one from Ali Express (gooooood one!)
EDIT: (Don't worry! I almost have my PS1 screen!)

I also messed up a Regulator Board, so I'm going to get a new GC...

Positive: I got my 3 ZN-45 Cases, and they're perfect!

Re: GameCube Lite

UPDATE

I am going to get a new GameCube (Black) upcoming Sunday!

FOR ONLY 3 DOLLARS INCLUDED A ORIGINAL POWER ADAPTER!
If that's not a perfect deal.... :awesome:

I also did some experiments of a possible way for relocating all the parts!
Pictures will come tomorrow because I messed up my SD Card Slot....
So I will go out for an new adapter tomorrow!

Also I know what new screen I'm going to use.
It's going to be an 5" screen from Dalian Good Screen.

Re: GameCube Lite

Why not use a psone/zenith 5" screen? They are good quality and easily available. Also they are well documented and easy to hack.
